Entrepreneurs Enhance Marketing Knowledge in Kithul, Coconut, and Palmyra Industries

Entrepreneurs from the Kithul, Coconut, and Palmyra industries gathered at the Postgraduate Institute of Management to enrich their marketing expertise through a specialized program organized by the Vidatha Unit – Ministry of Industry and the Institute of Marketing. The event, which aimed to uplift the marketing knowledge of SME entrepreneurs, featured prominent figures from the industry and government sectors.

Mr. Kelum Priyantha, Senior Manager at Sri Lanka Telecom, served as the resource person, delivering insights tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities within these traditional industries. His practical sessions provided attendees with strategies to enhance their market presence and capitalize on emerging trends.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Shantha Weerasinghe, Ministry Secretary, who delivered a keynote address emphasizing the crucial role of marketing in boosting SME businesses. He highlighted government initiatives aimed at supporting and developing entrepreneurship across the country.

Mr. A. Lakkathas, Additional Secretary, extended a warm welcome to the participants and underscored the role of initiatives like Vidatha in transforming the lifestyles of entrepreneurs through skills development and business enhancement.

On behalf of the Hon. Minister, Dr Meegaswaththe, Advisor to the Hon. Minister also participated. Officials from the Ministry attended the program, showing government commitment to fostering growth in these vital sectors. Entrepreneurs from Colombo, Kalutara, and Gampaha actively participated in the sessions, numbering approximately 40 in total.

At the conclusion of the program, participants were awarded valuable certificates recognizing their commitment to advancing their marketing knowledge and skills. The event concluded on a high note, with entrepreneurs expressing gratitude for the insightful sessions and actionable strategies provided.
